Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains what information CurioFrame collects, why, and how it's used. CurioFrame can be played fully anonymously; creating an account is optional and only adds cross-device progress sync and Premium features.

Information we collect

• Account information: if you create a free account, we store your email address and an optional display name via our authentication provider, Supabase.
• Gameplay data: for signed-in accounts, we store puzzle progress (which puzzles you've played, solved, or failed, and on which frame) so it can sync across your devices. If you're not signed in, this same progress is stored only in your browser's local storage and never reaches our servers.
• Payment information: Premium subscriptions and donations are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; Stripe shares with us only what's needed to manage your subscription (e.g. your subscription status and renewal date).
• Advertising data: free-tier pages display ads served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies and similar technologies to personalize the ads you see. See Advertising & cookies below.
• Anonymous usage analytics: we log which pages are viewed and how many puzzles are completed, to understand overall traffic. These records contain no personal information (no name, email, or IP address), only a random identifier generated in your browser that resets every time you open a new tab, and is never linked to your account even if you're signed in.

How we use this information

We use the information above only to operate CurioFrame: running the puzzle game and syncing your progress, managing Premium subscriptions and billing, responding to support requests, and maintaining the security and reliability of the site. We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services

CurioFrame relies on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate:

• Supabase account authentication and database storage.
• Stripe payment processing for Premium subscriptions and donations.
• Google AdSense displays ads on free-tier pages.
• Vercel hosting and infrastructure.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on our behalf.

Advertising & cookies

CurioFrame uses Google AdSense to show ads to non-Premium visitors. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or generally at www.aboutads.info/choices. Premium subscribers do not see ads.

Children's privacy

CurioFrame is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Your choices

You can play CurioFrame without ever creating an account. If you do have an account, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing us; see Contact below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as CurioFrame changes. Meaningful changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
